(Shanghai, November 23) China's Lin Dan smashed Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia 21-18, 21-9 to win the men's singles champion of the Shanghai China Open this afternoon.

"Lin was slow in the first set, but he sped up in the second and I couldn't catch up with him," said Lee Chong Wei.

Lee Chong Wei and I didn't show our best forms in today's match due to a lack of systematic training after the Beijing Olympic Games, commented Lin Dan.

Chong Wei's physical strength couldn’t support him very well because he had played so many games recently, Lin added.

Lin, who won the 2008 Olympic tournament champion, stated that forgetting about the past could push him to keep the best form.
